RE: Supersportster 60 question
I agree. What kind of tips would you do? End on a rib or add some square stock and round off like a Kaos? Me, I like the stock wing tips.

It would look strange for a Super Sportster, but will probably fly ok.

RE: Supersportster 60 question
Sportsters gotta have round tips! If you want to shorten the wing, then loose a rib, but the tips gotta stay, without them, well its just --- wrong! Especially now that GP isn't kitting them. So, I guess they're kind of a classic.

RE: Supersportster 60 question
I built a new wing for mine since the experiment to discover how much power is needed to fly thru that tree at the end of the field. What a rugged plane. The new wing is about 2" shorter and the tips are more rounded, not elongated as the stock build is. It has a little faster roll rate than the stock wing, at least it seems that way to me. Could be on of those eliptical dilusions. I've been told, by others that say they're smarter than me, that a flat tip wing produces a faster roll rate. I dont think that in itself is necessarily true but may contribute when added to other factors. Try the aerodynamics forum.

RE: Supersportster 60 question
Reducing the wingtip area has no effect on the wingloading if it is not airfoil shape.... the washout effect is different if the kit was designed to have a higher or lower washout.... if it is just for looks, you will see no difference except for slightly less drag and an increased roll-rate if the ailerons go to the tips. If you like the look on paper, give it a whirl. Remember, the kit is no longer being made so make it the way you want it.
