Default 4*60 Cowl

I am getting ready to build my 3rd Four Star 60 and saw a post where someone had bought a cowl from Fiberglass Specialties. I went to their we site and the one they have for a Four Star is a Cap 21. Has anyone used this? How was the modification? Any Pictures? Any other cowlings that will fit? Thanks.
Also, same for the BTE Venture 60 - cowlings anyone?

Rene,
I am building a 4*60 w/ this cowl. It fits great, but it needs a little massaging to get the nose to clear the crankshaft. No big deal, seeing as you will have to cut it for cylinder/muffler clearance anyways. I am away on vacation & I can't figure out this computer I am on. Go to RCH & search 4*60 Thrust line & angle. I have pics posted. Sorry I can't give you a direct link.
Hope this helps,
Mark

Hello All,
We have just finished the new cowl mold for the Sig 4 Star 60 which allows the thrust line to match up properly. I have sent the first cowl out to a customer and we are now in production with it. I still don't know how to add photos here so if you want one just send me an email. If you know how to add photos please let me know. Also, I believe our cowl for the Sig 4 Star 40 will fit the BTE Venture 60. Thanks so much.

To upload pictures, do not use the fast reply editor. Use the post reply icon right under this post.

At the very bottom of your editor square, There is a Click here to upload!
You will need to know where the pictures are in your computer.

An alternate means is to copy the image location of the picture on another website then use the IMAGE function. When you click on image it will put the beginning and end format codes together. You well need to paste your picture location between the two. These pictures will be whatever size they were when you copied the location.

Enjoy,

Jim

I think I am the person you are referring to.... I just recieved the new FS 60 cowl, and look forward to using it. BTW, what is preferred - sideways engine mounting or inverted? I will be using an Enya 90 4C.

A sidways engine is as easy to start and run as a upright one.

A inverted engine is trouble for some people.

Inverted engines need the tank to be lowered so it is even with the needle valve.

Enjoy,

Hi Craig,

Are working for fiberglass specialties? Do you got a cowl for a Sig Yak 18 ? The inner diameter should be 7 inches. as you can see on the picture below, the diameter is decreased in the front of the cowl.

Ive been looking around for quite a while now for a fiberglass cowl to replace the standard alu-cowl, wich is very very heavy.(around 370gr)

Thanks!
