Die cut parts in Slow Poke 40 kit
Hi All,
Anyone out there ever had a problem with a lot of die cut parts broken??? I know you can glue them back together but it's very frustrating to me. The problem is it seems to be some of the important pieces. Wing tips, Fuselage.
It this common? This is the first plane I am building

After reading some reviews of the SP Sport 40 in the mags, it sounded like a great kit, so I bought one. After starting, I decided that the kit reviewers had NOT put down their crack pipe prior to writing the article. I had nothing but problems with the die cut parts, ie., they weren't cut through, many of the parts were crunched, and the wood was of poor quality. I made due with what I could, and replaced what I couldn't. I was kinda hoping I was the only one with this poor of a kit. I guess not.
Most of the other GP kits I have built have been pretty good, but IMHO not up to the quality of a SIG, Goldberg, etc. I do give credit to GP for some really good manuals, though.
Just work with what you can and have patience. It'll come together before you know it.

Slow Poke .40
I didn't have any of those problems with my Slow Poke 40 kit. Maybe I got the only good one My kit went together quite well, with very few problems. The instruction manual was not very clear on the fuel tank installation and how to support it. And if I had to do it over, I'd sheet the top of the ailerons with some 1/16 balsa. I think theres too much flex in them, so the top sheeting would provide some rigidity. I covered it with 21st Century fabric. What a pleasure to work with!
All in all, I'm very pleased with the final product.
