I need ailerons on kit without them--FOKKER V-7
good morning to all!!
i am building dare kit FOKKER V-7 the plans have no ailerons want to pencil them in....... the orignal GERMAN made plane had them and they were made at an angle to the trailing edge and somewhat short. as stated this kit has none but i have seen other fokker kit planes with them all different sized shaped and designed ailerons. which is best who has knowledge of this or ran into this problem before?thanks so much. i also have servo question after i iron this out first. dennis [email protected]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is it begining to almost the end~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let me clean this up for you. Kind of hard to understand what your saying without any punctuation or capital letters in your question.
Now to answer your question:
Just build a trailing edge on the wing where you want your ailerons to be located. Cut the ribs back and glue on some trailing edge stock. Then build some ailerons for it. Insert hinges. Glue them in. Shake well.
It's not that hard to put ailerons on a kit that doesn't have them. People do it to the Sig Kadet Senior all the time.
thanks for the reply,
No college and no typing courses.... sorry thank you for the corrections. More specifically I was interested in the length and shape of the ailerons on this particular plane.There are a few different ones I do understand how to apply ailerons to my plans. Just wanted some different applications ( specs) for this model . thanks dennis
One point which has not been mentioned is that if the plan was for 3-channel plane you must reduce the dihedral if you intend to add ailerons. The usual guideline for sport RC monoplanes is to use half of the original dihedral.
Here you go for lots of 3 view drawings of the D7. If you know the correct name of a plane google's images search can work wonders...
I don't fly any Fokker. I'm bilding my first biplane at the moment, the ever popular Hog Bipe, though I'm progressing very slowly due to a lack of spare time. Gotta go to the workshop now if I want to make any progress this weekend.
