... never fly poorly.
It looks great and, given the attention to detail shown thus far, I'm sure will be a wonderful addition to the fleet.

I searched the world for Ultracote True Red spray paint. Found some in Canada, and ordered it. Got an e-mail a day later that the Canadian government considers spray paint "dangerous goods" and won't ship it across the border.
So, on to plan "B". I will have to paint them a color that does not match the covering! [:@]

No, it is on hold again. This is what I have been doing instead. Building wooden gates and painting rooms in my house. But thanks for asking!

Nice work as always. We are in these hobbies for enjoyment and not punching a clock or reaching a goal on a time schedule. Besides, a happy wife is a happy life.

Just finished my second 4*60, typical great SIG quality, this one will have a Saito 100 up front, the first had a GMS 76, now in my Kadet Senior float plane, you can give yourself a rousing cheer, that is a masterpiece,
I build stand off scale, the further you stand off the better it looks, as long as they are straight and not warped I like them.

Hi, I am interested in starting a kit build plane, it would be my first. I am looking for a some what easy to build plane being it my first and all, I also would like it to be an electric plane, (in a perfect world it would be a plane that can use a 3c 2100 mah lipo battery) because I have a lot of those batteries already, and the last thing I would like is for it to have ailerons because that makes it easier to fly.
right now I am open to anything budget wise and to any type of plane
I appreciate anyone who has some good recomendations.
Thanks,
David G.

Take a look at Mountain Models - if you want all balsa check out the Dandy Sport and the Switchback Sport. Nice builds and perfect for the 3s 2100's.

Both are aileron wings. You shoule be very pleased with either one.

Yes, let's get this back on track.
I just flew my new Four Star 60 two weeks ago. It is absolutely majestic in flight, lands in slow motion, cruises overhead like like an old PT-19. OS 70 FS, 14x4w prop, 7 lbs, silk and dope finish. Vertical, though slow, is very strong. I haven't gotten adventurous with it yet, just enjoying simple things like slow putt-putt flat turns (rudder, up elevator and a touch of outside aileron), wide slow loops, etc. Roll rate is surprisingly fast with only a little bit more aileron throw than called for, and hinges not yet sealed (may not bother). Landings smooth as silk. I don't get the float people talk about, probably because of the wide, low pitch prop and a beautiful running engine that idles at 1600 rpm. Yet slow as it is, when you point it up it just keeps on going.
Even though I knew it would be an easy flier I was nervous because of all the work it represented. But the first flight was very easy and I quickly calmed down enough to enjoy this beautiful bird.
Well, enough enthusing - onward Kmot! It will be well worth it.

Okay, I may have some time here and there over the next couple weeks to sneak in a couple hours of work. I am going to try to get the wheel pants painted during that time. All will be left after that, is installation of the radio gear and she will be ready for her maiden.

Hello.
I've been reading through this thread cuz I just finished up my
4 * 60 as well. It's my first kit build and took way too long but
gonna have someone at the club maiden 'er soon.
However, when checking the CG, the plane seemed to get built
very tail heavy. I installed a Saito 100 and the 600 mAh battery
pushed up under the tank against the firewall. I must have
added at least 10 oz of lead to the nose to get 'er to balance.
Servos are mounted about midway (if not forward) in the
bay opening. No special mods and such except for Dubro
non-metallic landing gear. I would not have expected this given
the oversized motor.
Anyone else have similar experiences with the 4 * 60?
Thanks for your input!

Whew!! Thanks for the reply!
Just haven't seen a thread where someone added that much weight,
but I'm feeling better now. Hopefully the SA100 will keep it a brisk
flyer.
