midwest extra 300 80"
hey guys, anybody who built the midwest extra 80" kit, have a couple of questions for you. is the wing 1 piece, or 2 piece with wing tube? does it have an hatch on top? and are the wing built up wood or foam core wings that you sheet? is the tail airfoiled or flat? lastly, how does it fly? thanks for your info..

It has a one piece wing, no top hatch, the wing is built up (no foam). The one I had was an earlier kit with flat tail surfaces, the newer kits now have an airfoil tail. It is an absolutely great flying airplane. I had a great time with mine and sold it only because it had a one piece wing and was difficult from a transportation perspective. I wish I had it back.[]

Mine is the current Midwest Extra 300XS with the airfoil horizontal stab and elevator. Flys like a trainer when you want it to and like a great aerobat when you want that. I have the 2.1 Moki on it and think it's a great combination. Couple of pictures attached.
