Here is a curtiss SO3C my Dad framed up before he passed away. Been sitting in my Moms garage for many years. He scaled it up to 1/8 from a cleveland plan. I think I will do this next when I finish my FW 190D9

Nice looking and unusual subject, was it a kit or scratch?

It is scratch, in as much as it started as a small rubber powered plan. My Dad blew up the plan to make it about 1/8 scale. He cut out all of the parts and got it this far. I need to fix some of the hangar rash as it has been sitting in my Moms garage for about 6 or so years. I also noted that Dad blew up the airfoil from the rubber plan. I am going to go ahead and build another wing for it. I asked for and received some advice about an airfoil for it here on RC univers. Ollie suggested I use an S8037. I did some research and found that this airfoil was used on the TF P47. The wing should be a snap to build as it has a straight leading edge and a tapered trailing edge and very little dihedral. Once that is done then I will plank/glass and paint it. This airplane was a float plane with one big float in the middle and two smaller ones on the outboard wings. But they also made it with landing gear. I will try the gear first and if it flies ok I may try the floats. I have never done a float plane before
