Pitts Special
Ok guys got a question for ya. Tried asking this in the newsgroups and didn't get an answer .
Was at a household auction this last weekend that had a significant collection of modeler goodies.
Purchased at a very reasonable price a Royal Pitts Special kit.
I also have in my rather limited inventory of uncommitted engines an ASP 108 that i acquired this spring at a swap meet.
I notice that the factory calls for this engine to use a 14X8 prop which is about what i would expect my second choice engine (91 four stroke) to use and it is roughly the same size physically .
Would this engine make a good power plant for this airplane?
And before somebody asks yes money is an object , no i can't just go out and buy a different engine without some prior planning.

RE: Pitts Special
I have a OS 108 which turns a APC 16x6 at 9K sealevel 10%. Works out to about 15 pounds of thrust using thrusthp calculator.
I did a search and found this:
Hobby Barn (Marutaka, old Royal kits) sells one for a 90 4c. 52 in WS, 840
sq ins. Nice kit but uses "old school" building techniques and is not a
beginners kits. Has a built up cowl and no canopy, just a windshield.
Covering mine now.Using a OS 91 4c, 120 would be to large. Should be about 8
1/4 lbs RTF.
If this is so then I think the 108 will be quite a bit for the Pitts.
