Default Great Planes Ultra Sport 40 Plus build

I bought this kit at a swap meet last nov. and I'm finally going to get started. The only mod I'm going to do is move the landing gear to fuse. Anybody had any problems with this kit or have any suggestions to avoid a problem. I have read the instructions several times and it appears to be pretty strait forward. This will only be my 3rd kit even though I'm 66. Slow starter I guess lol.

Gary496,

Check out my build thread here http://www.*********.com/forums/famo...ead-11302.html

It was a fun build and now it's a great flyer.

also when it comes time for the firewall, create a one piece firewall out of 1/4 ply. much better solution than the liteply 2 piece firewall they have you build in. the diagram for where the engine gets mounted places the engine mount bolts right through the crease. it weakens the firewall. this came apart upon landing funny with the nose down and the engine tugged on the mount and forward it went.
