As has been said, they are definitely "builder's kits", I'd just like to add that they fly very well.

RE: Marutaka kits
Hi!
Yes Marutaka made very nice kits ...sorry they are no longer in business.
My DC-3 flies like a big sailplane at 3.6kg powered by two OS .26 four stroke engines and homemade 3-blade 10x4,5 carbonfiber props.
I have one in box Marutaka Bearcat lying under my bed for 25 years...
Regards!

RE: Marutaka kits
Hi all!
I have the Royal DC-3/C-47 kit if anyone is interested PM me. I also bought a set of the retracts for the Top Flight kit that go with this. The scale isn't exactly the same but they are close enough I don't think one could tell.
Thanks!
Cliff

RE: Marutaka kits
It is a big shame that they are no longer in business, The market for these kits is unreal! But they made kits that nobody else makes, or comes close to the scale outline. Thats what makes them so Precious. Me personally, I will make all the parts for the kits I have, build them, and have unmolested kits. Where can you find a good scale kit of a P-38? I have seen this kit go for as high as 550.00, and as low as 250.00. I think they are well worth the investment. Ebay always has a stream of Royal/Marutaka kits. What kit were you planning on purchasing?

RE: Marutaka kits
Kelsey B Has digitized Plans for several royal kits. I plan on using those to make my own parts when I can by a cnc Router. Or I can order lazer cut parts using the digitized vector files.
Dyosaurusabacus has Many VERY VERY good threads on the royal corsair. Very worth the read. I saved all his stuff on mu puter for future refernce. He makes anyone want to build a Corsair, especially the famed most true to scale kit Royal.

RE: Marutaka kits
Hi Kelsey, you had sent me, your first set of Cads.I don`t know ,if you still have my e-mail, or not.But I would sure like the revisions..I`m thinking hard ,about going real dinky. Not to sure, about how small yet, but I`ve got ,a few new Fora 0.020"s and some nice little Norvels. They would make, for a fun little hack about,Yard flyer type of deal..Thanks Dave B.

Kelsey, I would love the updates! I too would like a zero, and I am very interested in the Messerschmitt BF 109E as well. You still have my email? I am still setting my shop up so no building yet for me!

I'm still tweaking the drawing as I run into iritations during the build. You'r both welcome to it, and I'm hoping to get it ready this week.
you just have to promise to show me results or your build

RE: Marutaka kits
scale aero claims to have marutaka kits but then a banner in the order page proclaims "Until you read this banner stating we have Marutaka/Royal kits available ... We do not"
If interested it may be worth a call to find out.

Fyredog,
Are you planning on starting your Zero kit soon? I have one project lined up before I start mine. Are you planning on doing a build thread?
