Default Name the manufacturers.......

I was out of the sport for about 4 years but now am back. Can you guys name good kit manufacturers for me as there are so many now. I am aware of Great Planes, Top Flite, Hobbico, Hanger 9 ect.... but I hear that there are some really good smaller companies out there. Thx for the help.

I don't know what type of plane you are looking for but IMHO BTE is one of the best small kit makers going.

Good luck...

Sorry guys, I should have been more specific. I'm looking at building a large plane, 27% or larger. Something like a CAP232. What manufacturers make high quality kits for planes like this? Thanks.

Aero works is the only one I can think of that offers 27%+ builders kits for a Cap, Extra, Edge, ect...

Try ProCraft models out of Texas, I just purchased a Yak-54 from them and the quality looks excellent. I haven't started the build yet but looks very straightforward for a big plane . I have given up on ARF's since the few I have had have been lacking a few things like REAL PLYWOOD and GLUE not to mention good hardware.

ProCraft has 50cc Extra 260 and 300, Ultimate and 100cc Extra 260,300,Ultimate, Sukhoi, Yak-54 and Cap232. Used to be Ohio RC

If you want 27% or larger choices are...

Carden - smallest they stock is 30% Cap and then the 35% edges/extras and 40% etc...
CA Models (too bad it's only stocked by AeroWorks) - 27,31,34,38% Extra
AeroWorks Edge - very similar to CA Extras (in fact they use the same manual etc...)
Dalton Aviation - 35 and 42% Extra
J'Tec RadioWave - 35% and 40% Extra and Panzl in PAK - Partially Assembled kits (basically the wings come presheeted etc...build a fuse)
http://www.silhavyaerosports.net/6.html - don't know anything about them but they have kits
AeroTech - has 28% on up in a variety of styles - 35% and up are commonly stocked (according to the website) 28% are special order.

I'm sure there are a lot more.
