Top Flite P-47 with a ST G-2300
Hello,
A friend of mine is getting ready to build a Top Flite P-47 and plans to put a Super Tigre G-2300 in it. Pneumatic Retracts, flaps but no more thrills.
The high-end 2-cycle engine rating for this kit is a .90. I told him I thought the G-2300 may be over kill.
His response was that he had heard that the P-47 was a bit tail heavy and instead of adding weight to the nose to balance it out, he would prefer to add more muscle under the hood.
Any comments?
Thanks
Zippy

Mine came out great with retracts, flaps, full cockpit, and three bomb drops. It flies very well on an st.75. If your friend puts that big engine on the model he will make it a lousy flier becuse of the extra wieght and the problems cooling the larger engine. Build it per the plans and it will be a great flyer.
