Default Monokote over Paint

Anyone have any experience monokoting over a painted wing/fuse? Do I need to remove some/all of the paint first or just "go for it"?

Not a good idea. The paint usually melts under the heat of the iron.

What exactly is your situation? Is the plane sheeted and painted? If so why cover? Is it covered and painted? Can you remove the old covering? Is it so badly damaged that it must be recovered or are you talking about patching a small area?

I'm getting it from another guy who said it was painted not covered. I have no concept how it looks or what kind of shape it's in, I'm looking at options in case it looks bad.

I have the same question. I'm building a Corsair that has plastic radiators in the wings that need to be painted and then have monocote surrounding them. Do I paint them first and then monocote, or cover the wing and then paint?

monokoat then paint, the paint will help seal the monokoat down on the edge
