First Kit after Trainer ARF
I am just starting on my Top Flite Contender and thought I would keep you folks up to date on my progress. I don't know how regular I will be with updates since I am only semi-retired and the semi-work part seems to interfear with my R/C Airplane addiction. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. My instructor and resident "Guru" is fully retired and is wintering in Arkansas. No he isn't Bill Clinton. He is 57af81 and resting in the Southern ice storms instead of babysitting me on the frozen tundra. I'll keep you posted.

Looks a little like a Corsair from straight on. I am thinking of getting a Saito .72 Golden Knight for it. One of the guys mentionedthose two gold valve covers sticking up should make it look pretty cool. I was thinking of inverting the engine till he mentioned the Saito.

From the looks of your projects, I should quit hanging around on RCUniverse and get down to my shop and gets something constructive done!

well I got the mud'n done (drywall mud) and sanded, started covering it, what a pain covering is. The cowl was the worst to finish getting everything ready to cover. Also sanded and polished my tru turn spinner, looks chrome now. I'll post pics of what I get done today.

I am not as far along as I would like to be but everything is going together well. Doing most of this for the first time I am taking more time than is probably necessary.
After my trainer ARF wnet together so easily I want to make sure this fellow flys when it ia all said and done.

I guess I will either learn to cover one way or another. Your plane is looking good. I hope mine turns out as good. As far as keeping things neat, I don't have much choice. My workshop is a tad on the small side and if I don't put things away I wouldn't have room to play. I'll send another update when I can.

No, I haven't covered an airplane before, should be interesting. I do have an experienced flyer as my instructor and he will give me all the help I need. The best part is he never drinks all the beer! lol
