Aligning parts???
How do you guys align the parts of a fuselage half so that they are in the exact same position as the parts you glue on the opposing half???
I know you build one half over top of the other that isn't a problem. At some point in the building process you have to separate the two halves and begin gluing in doublers. In most cases the doublers begin and end at the firewall or at a bulkhead. If the doublers aren't in the same position on both sides you will see a bit of twisting or it won't be perfectly square.
I've build several planes and so far it hasn't been a problem at all. Using rulers, dividers, and squares and a bit of TLAR has worked well enough for me. However I am trying to develop techniques that allow for greater accuracy than TLAR. I've attempted to build my own jigs out of wood and metal but they have never been incredibly accurate either. Before I go out and buy anything expensive can somebody give me thier thoughts on how to be more accurate.
Thanks,
Grackle

Aligning parts???
If it looks right....
it's right.
When you're dealing with wood, TLAR is really close enough. because even the weather can change it's size and shape. So just keep things square and true. Whatever you do to make things perfect will have no noticeable performance change.
