Default Airframe for a Saito 72

I recently re-kitted my Burrito and now I've got a Saito 72 without a home. Thinking I might try something different. Taking suggestions. Something that fits the engine and isn't a cookie cutter plane. no trainers or generic sports like the Tiger or 4-star. Something classy, classic and cool. I'm open...

There's nothing more "classy, classic and cool" than the 84.5" wingspan SIG 1/5 scale Piper J-3 Cub. Mine has a Saito .72 in it, and spins a 13x6 prop just right. Cruises at a click under 1/2 throttle (flying field is at 5,550' MSL) and has enough torque to pull it around with a nearly 1 lb video camera mounted in the cabin (right on the CG.) Laser cut kit, builds fast & true. Buy it, build it, fly it, love it.

[8D]How about the Sig Astro Hog kit?? Hopefully, the word "kit"
won't scare you away. The Astro Hog is a great aircraft with much
history behind it. As the saying goes, "nothing flies like a Hog".

I had actually spoken to a friend who had one and talked about getting one for myself. I saw one kit bashed with a radial cowling and it looked very nice. THanks for the suggestions guys. I just took the carcass out to the trash today. Fit in the can nicely once I was done flying it. I just wish it wouldn't have happened with so much light left over last night. []

Take a look at the Blue Jay kits, they may have something different or something you don't see anymore that may fit the bill.

What about a Sig Ultimate fun fly?? I am doing one now (my second) and will putting a Saito .72 in her. It is a really neat plane in the air and does awesome tumbling/spinning stuff! It is more of a sport plane versus the Mojo, burrito, Primo etc. but it is a blast none the less!!

I have mine in a GP Ultimate Bipe 40. The Saito 72 fits well within the cowl sideways mounted. Very nice combination. It is a very capable but well behaved model.

Edited for spelling.

Two great options are the Great Planes RV4 and the already spoken-of, Great Planes Ultimate 40 bipe... the second is abit more work but both turn-out very nice flyers with an OS70 (which I believe weighs alittle more then the Saito). The RV4 is an easier build if you are not ready to build and setup a bipe.
