Default Control linkage details

My SIG 4*40 is nearing completion and I'm puzzled about the control linkage details. This is my third kit, but my first SIG kit...

Parts supplied w/the kit include smaller diameter nylon tubes that slide inside larger diameter nylon tubes to control the rudder and elevator. At the servo end of the nylon tubes it seems clear that I need to screw the threaded end of metal rod provided into the inner nylon tube end, then cut and "Z-bend" as required to connect to servo arm. But what about the other end, (control surface end)?

In the past I have used one long length of metal rod inside a nylon tube. The long metal rod is cut and "Z-bent" at the servo end. The other end is threaded to receive a nylon clevis connector to attach to the control horn. The metal rods supplied with the SIG kit are all too short, and only threaded on one end. Am I supposed to cut and use just the +/-3/4" length of threaded rod at the control surface end? This would mean screwing this 3/4" long "threaded stud" into one end of the small diameter nylon tube, and then screwing the other end into a nylon clevis. Conceivably this connection could vibrate out over time, unless I fit a jam nut into the system. But this is all getting way more complicated than I think it is meant to be. I must be missing something here. Can anyone enlighten me?

Metal rods threaded into nylon tubes will not loosen in most applications. 2-56 rods should be screwed in 1/4 inch minimum 3/8 inch preferred. I use threaded steel clevises and lock them with a split washer and nut. I don't use Z bends. My experience with Z bends is that the wire can slide and vibrate along the axis of the hole eventually enlarging it. Not good. Ball joints and clevises stay slop free much longer.
