My new Senior
This is my first RC plane. Have built RC cars, boats, and several Guillow's balsa kits in the past. Took about 10 weeks to build. It was a lot of fun and a huge learning experience. I got lots of great ideas here at RCU. Thanks to everyone who contributes. There's a new 4*60 kit waiting in the box that I will start soon. After that will be an Ultra Sport 40 thanks to those who helped get it revived.
Used transparent Monokote and black Ultracote, Great Planes Scale tailwheel, and an OS 40 LA for blistering speed. The Harley logos came from the local dealer and were sealed with clear nail polish as were the white vinyl stripes I cut from scraps from the local sign shop. I elected to build it with the Sig-recommended dihedral and 3 servos for simplicity and classic looks.
All I have to do now is learn to fly it. I hope it lasts a while. Wish me luck.

One simple word . . . . . . . . "GORGEOUS"
OK, so that plane deserves more than just one word. How bout, you did a fantastic job with the build and covering. Can not tell by that beauty that it's your 1st build. Wish my 1st build came out that nice. Really looks great, Love the color choices and scheme.
Let us know how it maidens [sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=thumbs_up.gif]

very nice job. You will be able to fly many nice planes that nobody else will have an exact replica of, with your building skill.
Sometimes thats one of the nicest aspects of hands on building.
But there is no feeling like when a box of sticks takes to the air the first flight .no arf can quite touch that.

I fly mine with an OS .40 FP and it has plenty of power for a new guy, VERY lifty-floaty plane. My senior was my 1st build also, I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Heres the picture of my Kadet that I'm sure everyone on RCU have been waiting for It's put together with Elmers wood glue and covered with a clothes iron a long time ago. It has an OS .40 FP and Futaba radio gear. I have moved on to scale warbirds, 3D and helicopters now but this plane is still may favorite...my flag ship so to speak.

".........the thing ain't THAT good." I like it.
I broke in the engine yesterday and it now idles and takes throttle nicely. Did some taxi testing in the road in front of my house and she handles well on the ground with no tendency to nose over or groundloop. I just have to work out a couple of small bugs and then try a maiden flight.
