Default Sig King Kobra Question

I am almost finished building my King Kobra, and am at the point of attaching the turtle deck. I keep looking at the FT balsa former that is suppose to go in the rear of the turtle deck before it is glued on. However, I can see no good reason why I would want to cut-out the plastic rear of this piece just to install a piece of balsa in its place. As far as I can tell, it really gives no strength to the fin, as I can just superglue the rear of the turtle deck to it anyway. besides, the FF pieces on the side seem to do most of the supporting for the fin.
Please let me know if I am missing something, and what you may have done.

Thanks!!!

Default Sig King Kobra Question

I just finished building two King Kobras, and, although I did put in the FF piece, in retrospect, I think you would probably be all right just leaving the plastic in there as you mentioned.
