Default Painting an airplane

I have a 20 year old airplane that I want to fix up. It is not a gp stick, but it is built exactly like one except the wing has a slanted leading edge. The plane was painted in a navy type jet aircraft design and I really liked it. I would use monokote, but it is fully sheeted. I would have left it alone since the paint was good, but there was big dents in it from sitting around for a long time. The wood is still good.

THe process it looks like the builder used was a layer of ca or some type of sealant over the wood. Then a grey primer. Then painted it all white and then added the design. I looked shiny so maybe a clear kote.

My main question is what is this stuff, like is it special stuff. Also where can I get it and what is the best brand.
