midwest citabria build thread 3
hello all! have finally made progress on citabria! nearing the end of the build! have been having probs with computer lately so sorry for any duplications. thanks to NCIS and rcu for help and support. i wouldnt have gotten this far without. here are some pics hopefully.

hello luv bipes! i will be using a magnum 91 4-stroke as i have one. did u mount the engine at an angle or inverted? just wondering if you had any fuel probs and how it worked for ya. this is my first kit and four stroke use. i have a two wonderful daughters
a wife and full time plus job. it seams like i have been working on this thing forever!
any tips or other suggestions would be greatly appriciated. thanks for comments

finally ready for covering! will be dropping off to club cover man after christmas. theme will be cub yellow and white with starburst

Well, its ready to maiden ! Its been a long road but, enjoyed the build. I'd like to thank, NCIS for help during the build, for support, and for the awesome paint/finish work, thanks for motivating me in kit building. Next, I'd like to thank, Club coverman, Bill Lipke for the great Solartex covering job. I would like to thank Callie Graphics (www.calliegraphics.com) for the wonderful modified starburst grpahics, which my daughter, Allison - TakingFlight96, designed for me. I would also like to thank her for being a great daughter, and her support during the build, help with finishing chores. I also want to thank my other daughter, Amy for help punching parts out of die-cut sheets. And last, but not least, thank you for all fellow RCU'ers who have helped along the way. Heres some info for those intrested -

Wow, it's finally done. It seems this builds been dragging on forever. I can't wait to see it maiden at the field ! I was happy to design the starburst for you, glad to see it turned out so well. Thanks for being a wonderful father. Great Job !

Thanks. I always enjoyed drawing (especially, WWII bombers, fighters and WWI Biplanes, one wall in the shop is covered with tons of colorful, scale drawings - I just recently designed a logo for my local club) and when my father asked me to do this, I just jumped right in, used my creativity, and came up with a unique starburst. Thanks again.

guapoman2000: This is a glow-powered plane, not an electric conversion like you prefer. Although I understand that you have a similar model, and an electric has the advantages of better convenience and less clean up, I would like to ask: What interest do you have in a plane with a glow engine? Are you considering the possibility of converting back to glow?

hello all!
unfortunatlely the maiden has not happened yet. the weather here has been terrible! the wind will not stop blowing. we have had one storm after another and to top it all off my radio went bad requiring me to send it in. while im waiting io have obtained a spectrum dx6i and two recievers for citabria and a mayhem. i have next week off and hope to maiden soon . guess what nasty storm today and more next week and lot of rain. aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!. sorry about that had to vent. will let you know as soon as i can get maidened. andrew wisc.

very nice looking citabria. nice flying too! i prefer glow power . four stroke for a scale like sound. i like citabrias no matter what there
