Great for your work!!!
You have to put a pice of 1/4 triangle in the ruder before to covering.[:-]
Between the tail and ruder is good idea other 3/8 triangle
The worse moment for the Wonder is the landing because the tail is near to the ground, this triangles will be strong this.
Sorry for my english, I hope you understand.

Is a big hole for the tank [>:], you have to seal it with silicon (red for the engine)
Under the tank I put the battery and the level for 0.25 LA and 0.25 FX is Ok, you have to inclinate the tank because the fly level is forward.

Thanks MP3_tilaco. I almost forgot to include the triangle pieces in the fuselage.
Got the wing covered last night. The first wing tip is a little rough, but other than that I'm pretty happy with it. I went with a Carbon Fiber colored Ultracote (It looks black and white, but it actually has a pattern). I'll be adding some white Monocote to the bottom of the wing to add contrast. I really like the Ultracote. Seemed that wrinkles were a little easier to remove and it feels much harder/stiffer than Monocote. A person at my hobby shop recommended Ultracote because he said it would help hold the plane together better than Monocote. We'll see.

Ultrakote is very pretty for covering, I used this covering (green) a lot of time ago, I didn't like it but Carbon Fiber colored is amazing.

Just wondering if any of you have put a cowl on your Wonder? If so, how'd it work out? Built up? Aftermarket?

Ok I've been thinking FAST these days. been flying a cub and almost have a stinson done so want something a little quicker was thinking about a kobra. But after this thread I might just see if i can go 0 an 3 on the wonder. It seems the Wonder is my Eleanor, my nemesis, my Simon Bar Sinister. But maybe I will be able to burn a tank through. third times a charm?
Any way all these wonders look awsome.

Wonder is fast, with .25 FX is a misil.
I buyed O.S. 25 FX for my next Wonder, in one day is almost dome the wood.
Is very fun to fly and fix well in your car like. Since my first fly in March I left all my scuadron at home and I did ten, for my and my friend.

RE: Sig Wonder Designed by Bruce Tharpe - 2nd Build
Ta Da. Finally done.
Had some issues getting the throttle servo deep enough into the fuselage to avoid the aileron servo. My first try, the throttle servo hit the aileron servo when I tried to go full throttle. The fuselage is full. That is one tiny little plane and quite difficult to get everything packed in. I recenetly purchased a DX 7 TX/RX, so it didn't help having to include the second piece of the RX. I moved the battery to the back of the fuselage to help balance the plane. Got a little lucky, because it balanced almost exactly where the plans suggested without adding any extra weight.
Going to fire her up tonight and see if she holds together and hopefully maiden her this weekend.

RE: Sig Wonder Designed by Bruce Tharpe - 2nd Build
The Wonder has to be my favorite kit. I built two of them long before I was even an intermediate pilot, and both were destroyed. Not due to pilot error, though. The Wonders were always very stable, smooth and easy to fly. #1 bit it when the wing departed the fuse, and I learned then that Sig's dowel pin setup was a bit under done. #2 had beefed dowel pin mounts, but that didn't help- the antenna pulled out of the receiver and that was it. Those two crashes still rank as the most spectacular I've ever had.
Here's some pix of number three. Just started today. I can't decide between the OS 15 CVA or the 25 FX. Sure could use some more input on the balance issue.
I use pieces of balsa stock CA'd to the alignment tabs for purposes of pinning the ribs down. Automatically insures they are straight up and down. Note the 5/16 thick center rib reinforcements so the dowel pins have more meat to live in.

Hi, how about your Wonder? I built other from kit and I installed a 25 FX, is terrible.... I didn't cut the aileron like plan, my wonder rolled like a blender !!! 3 roll by second [>:] . Is very fast. I do combat with other Wonder, it has 0.25 LA. [:@]

Even if your not going 100mph it sounds like it!

Mustang Fever,
Did yo finally get the .15 CVA into the Wonder?
If so, how did it turn out?
root
ps....BTW... I found out that the dry weight of a stock built Sig Wonder without the servos, fuel tank, etc. is around 15ounces.......... 7.5 body and 7.5 wing.

There was a pilot this past weekend with an electric Wonder. I know very little about electrics, but he explained what engine and power he had in it, but it was way over my head. He was able to turn an APC 9x9 prop. It was quick, but I think my OS .25 FX had him beat. He also mentioned that a nearby field has Wonder Pylon racing once in a while. Need to check it out.

I am on my second Wonder--fun little plane. My current is the Red White and Blue version. Small servos, mini receiver, 350mah bat and OS .15FP, 8x3 combat prop. Very light and quick. I get about 10 minutes at WOT with 4oz tank. I carved the concave wingtips, but remember that the manual says they are not necessary on a plane this size, but they look cool. And they do. I was looking for a picture in my files, but don't have one. Sorry, but WTH, you all know what they look like.
