Default Onboard glow battery

So far I've had planes with exposed engines so attaching battery power at startup hasn't been an issue. Now, however, I'm working on my Spacewalker and Sig Cub, both with cowling, so I have been considering adding a switched and permanently attached battery to the glow plug as opposed to drilling unnecessary holes in the cowl.

Any thoughts, suggestions on the subject?

Sullivan Products has a new onboard glow driver that looks really interesting. Check it out on their website, it's on the front page of the site. [link]http://www.sullivanproducts.com/[/link]

You may also put A remote glow hook up on your plane ,and you won't have to carry an extra battery.

I make up my own remote glow hook up and it's so small you can't see it unless your are really looking for it. Unless you need the on board glow driver for some reason.

Thanks fellows. The simple spring loaded cap for the plug is what I think I'll go with. I'll add another remote switch and a battery holder. My planes are large so the weight of a single battery won't even be noticed.

Regards
