Tower Uproar 60 Thrust Angle
I just built an Uproar .60 and put a Tower .75 in it.
The plans don't seem to call for any thrust angle.
I haven't flown it yet and would like it if I can keep the first takeoff from being too "squirrelly".
Its my 3rd plane since getting back into the hobby and I am used to putting in a few degrees.
Anybody thats built one or has a suggestion, I would appreciate.
Thanks in advance

I have built 3 -40 size uproars, all with zero DT and RT-no problem, slight climb at full throttle-great planes and fly well, probably my favorite airplane for an easy day of flying-just finished a 60 size with ST 90 as power-have not maidened yet-but its built the same way- zero angle on engine mounting. Have fun-its a great little plane.

Wingnut-I used a OS 46 FX and OS 46 AX-plenty of power, but even so, I had to mount the battery back in tail with added hatch to get the sucker to balance. With extra weight out front, you might need an extra amount of weight in tail. Probably would fly ok, just have to figure out the balance.

Thanks Greybeard, I just have a tendancy to overcontrol on first flights,,Don't need anything else pulling the plane the wrong way.
I think I'll leave it.
And flipstart I,ll Probably try another plane for the magnum
Thanks again

I've got one with an ST45ABC turning 12.25x3.75 prop. She'll climb all day, nice and slow. There is plenty of room to put the battery in the tail (you'll need it or plan on adding a bunch of lead back there).
She is one of my favorite planes to fly. She'll do just about anything and with high rates on she snap rolls like you wouldn't believe.

Thanks mc, Maybe I'll still try the 40, I wanted something with lots of drag to try out the magnum 52 4 stroke, I also thought about a GP's Ultimate bipe 40 But I don't know if I am ready for such a short span.
Another question, I thought I'd ask before starting a new thread.-- I noticed while I was breaking it in, I couldn't
tighten the muffler on the Tower .75 enough to keep it from rotating. Thought I would ask for a suggestion, If I can't come up with anything else I'll try a couple of drops of epoxy.

Clean the threads thoroughly with alcohol then use Blue Loctite thread sealer. Let fully cure (24 hours) the bolt should hold tight.

Thanks again Marc, I've Never used loctite, or maybe just never read the directions, and didn't know it took 24 hours, to cure. I would've just tightened it back up and started the engine.

Not sure if it takes a full 24 hours -- but I always let mine go at least over night. Just make sure you use the "Blue" and not the "Red". The "Red" is permanent. You can find a good thread sealer at any hardware or automotive store (probably even Walmart).

We used a lot of loctite at work, various types, but all loctite dries in the "absense of air". May be hard to believe but true. Most important part is to degrease the nut and bolt. Most just throw some on after tightening and that does not work. I usually degrease the fasterners, tighten, apply loctite and forget. Not sure how long it takes but the bond is not immediate.
