Sig Kougar or King Kobra
Will a Super Tigre 75 be too much engine for a Kougar (size and power) ? Will it fit without chopping up the fuse?
Or should I just go with the King Kobra?
I have heard that the Kougar flyes great no info on the King Kobra.

I think you'd have a hard time fitting (and balancing) a 75 in a Kougar. Go for the Kobra. I have an OS .46SF in my Kougar and it flys great.

there are a number of threads here on king kobras and their outstanding flight characteristics. these threads helped me make a decision when i went to buy this type of kit. also there is plenty of building tips here that would allow you to build with confidence, no worrys about making mistakes. i am mounting a high revving .61 with a tuned pipe on mine. also i have installed retracts for additional speed .

The cowl on the Kougar and King Kobra is the same. The Kougar will fit in my van without taking it apart. The wing must be removed from the King Kobra. I have both.
Prop clearance for a 11" prop is close on the Kougar. Although I have run 11 inch props a 10 is normally used on my Kougars.

Sounds like the King Kobra is the way to go. I'll check out the fourms for the building tips, retracts sound like a good idea.
Thanks for the help.

I have a King Kobra very stable airplane, very clean and very fast! I have mine setup with a Webra 10CC engine and a tune pipe turning a 11 X 7.5" prop. Plenty of power for the airplane to do most manueavers with ease. I didn't bother with retracts because we fly off grass at our club.

Any of the three sizes of kit (Kobra .25, Kougar .46, or King Kobra .60) is a terrific sport/pattern plane. I just recently maidened my King Kobra with a Super Tigre G-61 ringed engine on it. It flies as terrific as it looks (not patting myself on the back, my friend Fred built it) and a .60 2-stroke is plenty of power so a ST .75 should just be icing on the cake.
