Default Plane choice for Saito 1.00 4-stk

Friends,

My father-in-law gave me a Saito 1.00 four-stroke Golden Knight engine. Yeah, I know. I've been drooling over it ever since. Anyways, I want to build an unlimited aerobat of the Extra, Cap, Edge ilk, but I need help finding the right plane for this size engine. The only one I've found that seems to be in the right size/weight is Great Planes Extra 300S .60 kit. I'm just not sure if that's the one.

Oh, and I am not interested in an ARF. I want to BUILD! Any suggestions on your part are much appreciated.

Thanks,

IMaflyer

Our club president built the 40 size and likes it well enough that he bought the 60 to build after he finishes a few other projects.
Another similar kit is the Goldberg Extra

IMaflyer,

Have you thought about an Ultra Sport 60? I know it wouldn't be considered an "unlimited" aerobat, but with that engine it sure would be close.

Fly safe and have fun!!

Going ARF you can find bunches of stuff that fits what you are looking for.

Going the kit route you will be limited on extras, caps, edges, etc.

There are some great non scale general sport flyers that would work well though for that engine.

If I had a new Saito 100 I would go astrohog bipe all the way.

Or what about something like a Decathalon?

Ok, I do not, repeat DO NOT want an ARF. I want to build, boys. Oh, and I already built the Goldberg Ultimate .60 size. Love it. I put a Magnum 1.20 4-stroke in it. It turned out pretty heavy, though. Anyways.

I think the great planes extra kit is probably going to be your best choice then.

I am not aware of any other kit that fits the bill.

If you can find one. Midwest Little Cap. Mine flew great with a YS91AC in it. Great kit too.
