ultra sport 40 + kit building
Hi everyone,
I started to build the ultra sport + kit from GP,
I will upload here some pictures during the build.
But first, some questions:
• This is my first kit, until now all of my RC Airplanes where built from scratch, and that I don't have time for a long long build.
As I say this is my first kit, and I don’t know if all the are supposed tp match exactly? A 100% perfect match? Because it didn’t went like that , that far.
U can see in the pics below what I'm talking about.
I wanted to know if I was making something wrong or not' I went over this over and over and still, didn't find a mistake.
* the gap for this 4.8*4.8 balsa stick wasn't came in the right size, and i think that this is what cause all the problems, almost at all fuselage parts I have this mismatch ( F1, F3 , F5 and F6)
• what engine is the best engine for this kit?
• Do I have to make some modes? Or this kit is good as he his?
Regards ,

RE: ultra sport 40 + kit building
Hi,
I built one of these long ago and it was a great kit and a super flying plane. I bought two US 60s that I hope to work on this winter.
I do not know what is wrong from your photos, but yes, the fit should be better. It is too late, but always a good reason to try and dry fit everything first.
With regard to the engine, I would use the OS .46AX. Easy starting and plenty of power. If you feel you need a little more, there is an OS .55, but you don;t want to make it real nose heavy. I make all of mine tail draggers, because the nose gear will eventually give problems.
Good luck and let us know how things go

RE: ultra sport 40 + kit building
Hi Matzri, I recently finished mine and as far as I can remember, my kit didn't have those kind of missmatch, overall fit was ok. I powered mine with a Magnum 52 XLS, and maiden flight was last sunday, MAN this IS a fast [X(] and agile plane, and this engine has much more power than I though.

RE: ultra sport 40 + kit building
I have just started putting my 40+ kit together, although I have not statred putting the fuse together yet. Yes the fit should be better but you should be able to roll with what you have as long as everything is nice and straight. I am going to use an os 70 surpass for power, should be good. I will be very interested on how the remainder of your build goes. One thing you may want to consider in changing is the fire wall, the one that is supplied you glue together, you should make one solid piece, but rom your pics it looks like you already have it assembled.

The gap would be a lot smaller if you had some of the boooz you have on the table. i have wanted to add a fridge to my shop for a while now. but geez if a kit is that stressfull, don't build it, its not worth it.[sm=thumbup.gif]
