Need help: US 40 or US 60 builders, please read
Hello,
I'm considering buying/building a US40 or US60. (Probably 60)
Kicker is... I want to electrify it.
I am worried about a couple things.
1. Will I have enough space for batteries?
2. Will the electric motor I'm considering fit in the cowl?
To that end I am asking a favor. Could somebody take a couple pictures of the plans. In particular, the cowling area, and the fuel tank area.
And just to be sure I get the scale correct, could you put a ruler beside the drawings while you take them.
Side views and top views would be most welcome...
Thanks in advance...
Lyndon

I won't be able to dig out plans for a US until tomorrow, but if you do electrify one ( [:'(] ) you should have plenty of room for the motor and batteries. I know on the US 60 there is plenty of room for an OS 61/75 in the cowl. And the inside the fuselage there is plenty of unused space to put your batteries.

Ken,
Thanks for the help..
I know you like the sound of your 4 strokers...
But think about this.. What makes a plane fly? Air traveling over the wings and control surfaces. Do a flyby with a juicer, and you can hear that sweet "wooshing" sound. It really sounds nice too.
So at least give credit, there is a nice sound to silence too...
P.S... I'm still planning on juicing my Hog Bipe... (hee hee)
