Default SMOOTHIE-Canopy or No Canopy??

This is my Auction purchase kit-A Smoothie. ??? Canopy or No Canopy, maybe a Barbie Head and bust with a windshield. What's the opinion out there.

I like it with the canopy but that is strictly my opinion for no particular reason except aesthetics.

Probably right-a greasy haired barbie will lose it's appeal. Thought it would be more time period correct being the kit is old.

Considering the pilot you'll put in, probably the canopy would be the best alternative, but a windscreen with a long scarf and leather flying cap on the pilot would look good also - just exit the scarf out the port side. I've got one I've been building off and on for about 25 years and think I'll just run a windshield on it.

What power are you using? Just curious, what did you have to pay for it? I think mine cost about $24.00 way back around 1984.

Hogflyer-Interesting you mention that. At the same Auction I bought a box full of engines for $80. I was after a OS Surpass 40 that was in the box with 12 other engines, I also got 2 OS 40 FP's one used and one never run. So I'm using the 40FP. Oh Ya- paid 5 bucks for the kit, thought it was just a box of balsa.

I'm thinking the canopy but i do like the windsheild, helmet, scarf idea!

I had two going at once, the 4*60 which I did a build thread on called Yet another "oh my god" 4* 60 build and this auction purchased plane called a Smoothie. It was a very old kit, one page directions, and a bunch of balsa, some i could not use. Managed to get some good ribs from the kit. I also just got a Something extra from Sig for Xmas and going to start it real soon. Have all the extras I like to put in my planes so I'm ready.

I just finished my 4* .60 and have just about got the wing done on a SlowPoke . Have a GP Ultimate Bipe .40 that needs the top wing finished. And I also got an SSE for x-mas lol .
I also have a Ultrasport .60 and a CG Sukoi .90. I really want to get them done before spring and have everything for all the kits.

Sry did`nt mean to get of topic.
