when you get to the fuselage take the firewall and make your own from the same appropriate thickness plywood. make it all one piece first time the engine rakes the ground it pulls at the seem and the firewall comes out. another modification i made to mine was to take the landing geear and put it in the fuse just before the wing to give my prop more clearance so i could have a 13 inch prop.

Thanks for the advice. I am just starting the fues this evening. I wish that the right wing would have turned out as nicely as the right. You learn a bunch on the first wing.

thanks, I have a Katana mini that has transparent red, and since the wing went together so easily, I thought what da heck !! show off the glue joints for once ! haha ... I have a fiberglass cowl on order and tomorrow night I am going to dye the canopy to make it smoked.... now if I could get 2 teeny red LED's or rice lights to put in the terminator's eyes, now that would be cool !!

Cool covering! My build has slowed a bit since I am back to work. My plane is going to be red with shredder flames exposing the black and white checkers-shredding exposing aluminum on the leading edge of the wing and tail. I now have to make a decision how to mount my engine upside down or sideways. I am not crazy about haveing the carb down near the dirt and dead grass (This is Texas after all). Suggestions??

Use a piece of pantyhose and an o-ring over the carb. I find going to the store for some pantyhose is a good test of man hood and builds character.

It's when the girl at the counter knows you by name, then it's a problem!
