Hitec 645's on surfaces
Film covering (hate to do it but i hear this is a heavy bird)

RE: 08' Top Flite Bonanza Build
started the plane by edge gluing 6 1/16"x3x30 to make them 1/16x9x30 then cut the tail sheeting from pattern on the plan doing the v tail leaves me 3 spare 1/16" sheets which i am sure will come in handy especially doing this bird with corrugations speaking of which got one down 3 to go for the tail its alot of work but will be worth it in the end i am basically doing the same thing that is done on the piper arrow i cut them as close to scale as possible but i am no master craftsman so it'll do. My wife says she wants to help with this one i couldnt believe what i was hearing haha more to come...and please i welcome tips and tricks so dont be shy fellas..

Regarding your comment about film covering, I originally covered my TF Corsair with Monokote.
After a terrain impact event a rebuild was required and this time I opted to glass and paint using a lightweight cloth. End result was that the rebuilt model was no heavier than the original.
Since then I have opted to glass and paint at least part of my later builds, including some quite small models. Main reason for me is that however much I try and seal the edges film always seems to lift somewhere sometime.
Just my $0.02 worth.
And by the way, how did you get the wife to help? What's the packback? (there's always one)

Is there a thread on here on how to do the corrugation like you are doing? I've got the TF Bonanza but have not started it yet. I've been looking over RC universe at all of the Bonanza threads. I should be starting mine in the next few weeks.

RE: 08' Top Flite Bonanza Build
That's what I was wondering. My TF Bonanza kit arrived the other day and I have been going around and around (and around) trying to decide which engine to use. I finally decided on the OS .91, but have had an even harder time finding details on an in-cowl muffler that would fit.
Grotesquebass, are you using a stock Jtec muffler or are they fabricating a custom unit for you?

I'm planning on using the O.S. 75 in mine. I've got the in-cowl muffler and I'm looking for the scale look and not the sound. That's one reason I'm not going to use a 4 stroke. The 75 has enough power to fly it and make it look scale in flight. I know some of you will disagree about the 75 but anything bigger will not fit inside the cowl unless you do a lot of custom work to make it fit. I should be starting my build in the next few days and will start a build thread.
