Dirty Birdi wing sweep
Guys:
Big Dirty Birdy 2+2.
Not sure how the #$%% I managed to do this, but matching up the root ribs results in the wing being swept back at the trailing edge as well as the LE. Not a lot, but noticable. Otherwise the wing halves are perfect. No warp, no wash out, etc.
My fist thought was to add a thick center rib, but then I flipped them over and the landing gear matches the sweep! So if I don't leave the sweep in, I'll have a fairly severe "Toe Out" condition on the gear. I don't think this will effect the plane, but what do you think? This is my first pattern style build. I sure hope your not going to tell me to start over, but that's better then a poor flyer.
Thanks.

RE: Dirty Birdi wing sweep
DJR,
Don't worry about landing gear at this point. The main concern should be building your wing straight and true. But relax. There is almost nothing on a built-up balsa airplane model that cannot be easily corrected.
I checked my DirtyBirdy 60 plans and the trailing edge is drawn exactly perpendicular to the centerline (root rib). I suggest you reattach each wing half to the plan as accurately as possible and determine where (or if) the discrepancy occurred. Then you will know just where to correct it.
Let us know what you discover.
