I'm glad to hear it flew good for you. I told you it would. It's an easy plane to fly and while I never flew one, I have seen it fly and it's a good flier. Glad to hear you got some help with the new engine too. The new engines are different to break in then the old ringed engines we used to fly. If you had a new ABC engine it is fun trying to get it broken in right. Much different then a ring job. I have my OS 55 to break in Saturday and try and get my Contender flying for the first time. Should be fun. Hope you have many many flights with the new bird.

Sounds like a winner, came out looking real nice, and now it has been airborne.
Have some fun with it!

Good luck on your Contender Ed. Iron Eagle, I considered the something extra. I think it's a little high performance for me right now. I'll see how my flying progresses. Kmot, I read your thread a few times before I started building. I learned a lot from it. I've learned from you too SeamusG and Ed as well. I want to thank everyone again for their help and support. This is a great site. It would be hard building a first time like I did, without the help from here.

The SE can be pretty docile if you set it up as such, not all that bad as a second plane for some. It can be flow very slow if kept light and on low rates it is responsive but not twitchy. Flying on high rates is a whole different story and it is a handful, especially if you have a little "extra" throw on the surfaces. It will fly a lot like your four star, but better because of the wing, and you will feel very comfortable building it after your 4*.

Mine is on it's way from Tower. OS 91 surpass is going in the nose from my Hog Bipe (RIP) along with the dubro gear and sullivan tail wheel assembly. I also have three rolls of Insignia Blue for covering (i'm gonna keep it simple. All blue with the star decals). I might enlarge the rudder and sheet the turtle deck but i think thats it. Oh i'm gonna clip the wings one bay on each side and beef up the landing gear block.
