Flair Fokker DVII
I'm building this kit & I'm at the point of mounting the motor. My question is that this plane seems to have alot of down & right thrust built in, is it really necessary?.

Yes it is. Also make sure you follow the plan when mounting the Horizontal stabiliser. I think it's about 3 or 4 degrees +.
Just follow the instructions to the letter and you will have the best flying WW1 model .
I have had mine for 6 years now, powered by a Laser 80, it really is a great aircraft. More of WW1 Pitts than a slow lumbering biplane.
If you need any more info , just ask.

I'm almost finished with the build. I'm building the upper wing now & wanted to know if anyone used the covering as the hinge for the ailerons?. I don't like the idea of using covering for the hinge. What did you guys do?. Thanks

Yes as I said, built mine exactly as per plan including using the covering as hinges on the ailerons.
Try it , it works great. I covered the ailerons first. Then attached them to the wing with a strip of Solartex, top and bottom. Then finish covering the wing.
Sorry I don't have any photo's but I think it's covered in the instructions.
