Top Flite F4U Corsair Gold Edition Kit
I have not built the Corsair from Top-Flite but I have built the P-47 Thunderbolt. with the P-47 there is alot of building but well worth it. It was not the easiest kit to build but the instructions from T/F were the greatest I have ever seen and made it a fun plane to build, with great results. So I figure the Corsair is as good. I also plan on building on of them soon.
Good Luck,
JOSH

The Corsair is fine. The retracts available for it are not. If you do back searches on robart 615 or the equivelent cj, you'll find a lot of dissatisfied people. This market is cryin for a good quality rotating retract for .60 sized corsairs. As much as I like my corsair, think I'll get a TF P-47. Solid gear and good flyer. Will subdue some of the agrevation of bent parts. Dont have the cj's to comment on, but they dont appear to have any better reputation. Some put up with the robarts over the cj's. Just my opionion, based on experience. But if you can get past the retract issue, the corsair is a great flying plane. Love it.

I second the problem with retracts. I had the CJ rotating retracts and the quality was, in my opinion, not commensurate with the price paid. In fact, in looking for another warbird to build, my sole criteria is that it does not have rotating retracts.
To answer your specific question about the kit, it builds fine. Take your time. I would think long and hard about the engine: my suggestion is that buy a quality engine.
