CG Ultimate and Saito 100
Just putting this out there for some opinions. Would the Saito 100 give spritely performance on the Goldberg Ultimate? Note, I don't want 3D performance out of this combo-I have plenty of other planes for that. I am looking for good aerobatic capabilities and the ability to fly the standard routines. In my opinion, it would be plenty especially if built light. I would just like to hear from others.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

RE: CG Ultimate and Saito 100
I've been chipping away at this kit/engine combo for a year. I hope to have it done this summer.
The main reason I went with the Saito 100 was weight. Like you I just want good aerobatic bipe not a 3D monster.
This is an older photo...I'm much further along.

RE: CG Ultimate and Saito 100
Mitch,
I had one a couple years ago with a Saito 100. I put the rudder on pull-pull, and mounted Hitec HS-225mg's in the tail for the elevators. I mounted the Saito inverted. Balance was not a problem with the battery near the fuel tank. This combo is a good one, and not bad on the 3D level. It was a kit built Ultimate, not the ARF.
I think I have some video at home. I'll try to post it for you.

RE: CG Ultimate and Saito 100
Thanks for the reply. I have always liked this kit but have never owned one. I have flown several and really liked the flight performance and would like to have one in my collection. I am going to keep my eyes open for a good deal. I think that really going in and replacing some of the ply with hard balsa and really managing weight, a person could really end up with a very nice compromise of strength/lightness on this plane.
