Mid Star 40 need advice/guidance
I have a Mid Star thought a bought a while back and it's time to get it flying. This plane was built at least 10 years ago, but never flown. My question is servo mounting and pushrod installation. The plane has absolutely nothing in it right now. I'd like to get it flying with the least amount of work so I need the kit building experts to help me out. For servo mounting I was going to use a generic plastic servo tray and epoxy that to rails I will make on the sides of the fuselage. If you think there is an easier way please let me know. The next problem is pushrods. I have a set of brand new golden rods that I was going to use, but my big concern is flexing because unless I opened the covering they would only be secured right behind the servo tray and at the exit. I've also debated on making my own using standard wire rods and wooden dowels. If you can give me any suggestings I would REALLY appreciate it!

mid star build: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_65..._1/key_/tm.htm
Push rods:
Yes I would strip the covering....
Minimum required stripping I guess is the round holes on the sides and around the exit holes at the tail, gluing the sleeves and cutting the excess, starting at post #83.
Yes the push rods sleeves need to be glued to the formers of the fuselage in order not to bend.
Also the pushrods need to be at the level of the servo arms – the servo tray is sitting on wood pieces glued to both sides of the fuse like in the forth picture on post #88.
Servo tray: I left space for the battery pack behind the servo tray, CG wise.
Second picture on post #151 and post #176.
The mid star flies much better as a tail dragger.

RE: Mid Star 40 need advice/guidance
theres nothing wrong with the good old pushrods made with 4-40 rods and 1/4 inch dowl, bend one end of the rod at 90 deg and drill the same diameter hole in the dowl then wrap a good amount of cotton around the rod / dowl area and coat it with either epoxy or wood glue. keep the steel rods as short as possible and use more dowl length, this will eliminate any side play flexing.
