Adrian, I will pledge. Deciding what and how much. How could I not support a N.A. Business.
Personally I would rather pay a little more and get all the wood so I'm not out looking for spars, etc and paying 3 times more plus shipping.
Another very popular design many are hoping someone would cut is the Goldberg Ultimate. They are not going to re-tool and it would be awesome if you could laser cut that also. It would be worth 225 to me and many others. Wood, plans and plastics. No hardware. As a matter of fact, if they would release it, I will send you a new kit to use for set up.
I agree, building ones self is always a better quality. The lack of easy built light trainers is steering the young ones towards foam RTF's.

Bill,
I would be amazed if Goldberg allowed someone else to cut their kit but who knows. I suspect it would be very labor intensive to convert a printed plan into something a laser could cut. If you get permission I will certainly look at it and see if it's something I could do.

Hey! Here's another kit that could come back. It's called the Newbee. It's a lot of fun to fly. Info here on how to get one: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...utting-project

Adrian,
I have pledged for one of your 1/4 R2's. I have an 80" SC that is nearing completion as a glow powered rendition. I am setting it up for floats (old Sea Commander set that I have). It has been an enjoyable build. As I said, I have the plans and some vac formed parts for your .25 powered R2 that I am starting on. I think that would make a great kit. Then I have one of your 1/5 R2's that I guess will follow that build. So I am lined up with your kits. Good luck and I hope the pledges are comming in.

Lars,
Thanks for the pledge. I think you just pushed it over the top into "funded'> To add decals you have to increase your pledge by the amout of the decals and repledge it. Then you just send me a message so I know what to send you. It's surprisingly primitive for a site who's only purpose it to gather pledges.

I'm not sure why but you are not shown as having made a pledge Lars. I got an email notification and the pledge money is there so it's all good I guess.
It's not showing two other backer's names. I will shoot an email off to KS support and see what's up.

That is strange... when I go to the kickstarter site and log in (I created an account), it shows my pledge amount as $270.00 and has the notation at the top, "You're a backer."

Just scored a Corben Super Ace - about a 1\6 scale @ 56" WS. An old VK kit, I've got a NV 40GX gasser I'll try in it. Rite at $100 shipping and all included. There was also an old World Engines .25 sz Robinhood that went pretty cheap. Love thier logo, bought an good size sew on patch of it recently.
Adrian, I've got a set of plans for your NewBee - and 1st thing I did was cut some parts out of the wrong size balsa. Was pretty thick balsa. May have to pledge for one of those kits. Got an old HP VT25 and a K&B 21 (w\DDD head) - do you think the HP would bee enough for the NewBee?

Yes, there are many on ebay of the older kits, you just have to be patient. Unfortunately, many are from estate sales of those who've passed on. Stevens Aero and SigMfg along with the usual lines of HH and TH too. It does seem like the Great ones are no longer made. CG ULtimate (which I have a couple) and always wanted to build the Midwest super Stinker PItts.
Currently building just because I love the littleplane... A goldberg Eaglet 50. Fun to build and flys great.

I recently ran across a CG Ultimate at an estate sale that had been partially built in the early 90's. I missed out on it because another fellow wanted worse than me.

I got this (assembled) at the Lebanon RC flea market. I could not believe by eyes. It is the original Midwest kit. In perfect shape. Older design, I just finished preparing the wing to put the flaperon servos in the wing (in the old times you could not use long servo cables due to interference). Made holes in the ribs for the cables (solid balsa ribs) and fiber-glassed the center section of the wing (they did not call for this, but I like to fiberglass the center section, particularly in a 88" one piece wing). The original used torque rods for the ailerons. With it they included 2 regular rolls of 21 century fabric (one red one white) covering and one of the giant rolls of red 21st century fabric. I will finish sanding and hinging the wing today, and start w/the fuse. It will have the servos in the tail. In the original it had push-rods and the servos closer to the front.
Most likely will fly with a 1.6 electric (about 3HP)... It is very light, and like all Midwest kits, the wood is just sensational.

It was unreal! I thought it was the newer (Canadian) model. Upon closer inspection I recognized the Midwest kit. I priced the 3 rolls of 21st century fabric (included in the deal) and it was like $130 (at Tower). So, if i deduct the cost of the covering of the price paid, I paid $10 for the model
A couple of weeks ago I bought a 110 Rascal ARF. New (missing landing gear and wing joiner) for $220.00 Really happy about this purchase too:-) But It will have to wait until next year to be "assembled". No more room in the hangar:-)

I watched a Sig 72EG Rascal here for a month - finally tried to purchase, but the $50 shipping seller wanted made me hesitate . . . . 2 days later someone else bought it About what you paid for the 110
I was thinking a Midwest Hots or a Stick . . . . - Which - or what kit is it?
