Has anyone built a AMR Trainer 26cc ?
I came across this and kinda like it but I'm no kit builder...however..I am a quick learner.
It looks like it would be somewhat easy compared to a lot of kits out there...the fuse is all "lock and glue"
Has anyone else built this one? Would love to hear about it.

Never built one but it looks pretty well engineered. Sine this is your first kit, it is the instructions that will make the difference. I didn't see a link to download the instructions. You might see if they can e-mail you a PDF. If the instructions are detailed and concise it might just be worthwhile.

Have you thought about the Sig Giant Four-Star 120 Kit .90-1.50,81". Much less expensive and the Sig instructions are great. You could put a gas engine on I suppose. Although not really a trainer it is said to be very manageable.

The Sig kit is very good, but the Trainer 26 looks to be much more stronger. It would make a nice airplane to learn to fly gas or as a tough Bird to test engines. I would like to see a build thread on one. Best Regards Capt,n

RE: Has anyone built a AMR Trainer 26cc ?
I am a Four Star fan from deep in my heart.
I once had a 4* 60, built from a kit by someone more experianced than me, and could find no wrong with that plane...except there were not enough hours in the day to get my fill of flying it.
The deal here is I am looking for a home for a 25cc weedy conversion engine...something super easy to fly and very strong...and maybe carry extra weight...camera...paratrooper...who knows..
i was looking at the Hobby Lobby Taxi 2400 arf. I know I can build that. But as the Capt. pointed out..the AMR Trainer 26 looks really strong. That would be even more true if it were built correctly..I'm sure.
So I am still hopeing that someone has already built one and could share some details on the build and flying abilities of this bird.
Anyone see the video on the web site?? Looks like ithe Trainer 26 will hang in the wind like a Kadet Senior.

I am building the AMR 33% Waco and it is a well engineered kit,
Michel (owner of AMR) says the trainer fly's great, I would recommend their kits.

Hi! i just saw this thread, surprise for me...
Vincent and me design this 26cc gas engine trainer, few years ago i did fly an arf stick with a 3w28cc gas engine , a Giant sweet and low stick from Midwest with a zdz40, i told my friend ,lets do a trainer for those small gas engine, low cost on fuel, i try a chineese sv26cc with 16 oz tank, more than 37 minutes.
All our club member's try it, so much fun, it land by itself....we did fly in 30km/hre wind without any trouble.
please take a look at the small video online in the website, it float like a telemaster.
It is very easy to build, all interlocking parts, if you send us an email, we will send you the manual in pdf.
We just finish to draw a bigger one for 40 to 50cc gas engine

RE: Has anyone built a AMR Trainer 26cc ?
Hello Terrymf,
I am currently building the AMR Trainer26 and i just want to let you know that the plane is very easy to build since it is all interlocking parts and even the wing is self jigging.
All the parts are easily going together. On mine, i have added flaps to add some more fun. I flew the prototype and it is easier to fly than a normel .40 or .60 trainer specially when wind is stronger.
I will post some picture of my plane soon. It is almost completely covered now.

Thanks for the post..I am looking forward to the pictures
One question...The flaps that you metioned..are they a part of the original kit or is it something you are doing on your own. I would like to run flaps also.

RE: Has anyone built a AMR Trainer 26cc ?
Greetings to all,
I am just finishing the building of the AMR trainer and I can assure it goes together exactly as you could expect. Light ply is the structural material with balsa stringers and also for filling where needed. I built many kits including the Sig kits. Kits are kits and they require squares and rulers and pins etc...and lot of sanding to get it done. AMR kits go together with just the instruction manual. And if you have built kits before, you will refer to the manual only occasionally. The built-in building keys are exactly that to facilitate construction and alignment. Everything locks in even before gluing. I have even cut windows and a windshield for mine. This is a fun kit and even more enjoyable to fly.
I have seen the prototype fly and in the hands of an able flyer it will do basic IMAC manoevers including knife edge as solid as can be expected.
You will not go wrong with this one.......and it looks somewhat like the retired Midwest Sky Squire of back then. Remember?
Suggestion: When building, make a cover between the firewall and the windshield so that you can easily access the ignition system and the batteries and the fuel tank if needed....and you will surely need to someday.

I built one. Super easy and no-stress to build. I flew the prototype and it brings back the fun in flying. I plan to put mine on floats. It is very strong structurally and the rudder is the most effective one I have flown yet.
This is the answer for everyone looking for an everyday plane without the need to invest in expensive hardware/radio gear or labor.
AMR made a winner! [sm=teeth_smile.gif]

RE: Has anyone built a AMR Trainer 26cc ?
Hi Terry,
I design the flap using the same philosophy as AMR currently do. Michel have all the data to cut flaps cut and i think Michel could provide you with the flaps kit for a little extra but you better ask him. It is also self jig like the rest of the wing so it is easy to assemble. The only difference with the original kit is that the builder have to remove one rib on the aileron and trim a couple ribs on the wing and it is done. I will try to take picture this weekend and post them on the forum so that you can see how they have been made. AMR is also working on a 50CC trainer exactly the same as the 26CC but with 104 inches wingspan. The prototype is being build at this time and should be ready in a couple weeks.

Those look really nice. After seeing the picture I understand a lot better about what you were saying earlyer.
Maybe they will include the flaps in the kit one day. (hint..hint)
Great to see some pictures.

Awesome Trainer. I am currently flying a Sig Rascal 110 with a Zenoah g26ei. I have been looking for a giant scale trainer for my sonee to get him into giants and gassers. This looks like the ticket. Michel, is there any chance that AMR will kit the flap version. I added flaperons to my rascal and love them.
