Painting a Nieuport 11
I am in process of applying Super Coverite to my Nieuport 11, next step is painting. After all the work and expense, the finish needs to look great.
Need some advice on painting technique,
spray vs. brush?
how to template and paint roundels and striping?
which paint to use?
I want to achieve an antique or at least original look to this 1900 beauty. Colors scheme will be white or cream base coat with red/whit and blue trim.
Thanks..BS

I used a satin latex exterior house paint, then a light coat of Minwax satin polyurethane clear over it. I sprayed on most of the latex, but this scheme also has areas brushed.I would spray the whole thing unless you need some special effects. I used Behr brand of paint but there are different opinions on brands.
I used the water slide decals and had the vinal lettering cut at a local shop.
I have a gas motor in this plane and finish is holding up with no problems. Cannot say how it will do with glow fuel though.
