Default 4*60 throws

Hi all,

The recommended throws for the 4*60, as stated in the instruction manual, are 3/4" up/down for elevator, 1" left/right for rudder, and 5/8" up/down for aileron. However, all the control surfaces are tapered i.e. the leading and trailing edges are not parallel. If one is to measure the throw at different points along the length of the control surfaces, they will differ due to the taper. My question is at which part of the aileron, rudder, and elevator do you measure the throws ?

Thanks...............Mike

Mike,
I measured mine at the widest part of the ailerons and elevator. Flew fine.

Yeap, always measure from the widest part of the control surface.

Thanks for the quick replies ! You guys are great ! I was actually measuring at the mid section of the control surfaces. I'll re-do the adjustments............

Wherever you measure, DO measure. Took a Cub up the other day that was supposed to be 5/8 on elevator and 3/4 on ailerons. It was actually 1.5 up and down on elevator and 1 on ailerons. YAHOO! Excitement! It got down OK!
