Good work on this design. I will be following your build thread with great interest.

Pavel Bosak created several interesting designs for RCM in the past. His L-39 and Harrier designs look very interesting. The Harrier has a wing loading of 41 oz. and that makes me shudder!

Good luck on your build project and keep us informed along the way.

OK the 1st thing to do is to make a pre-ket. What I ded is make copy's of all the parts that well be cut as in pic 1. Than I combined all the copy's that 2 or more copy's to make 1 part like the fuselage and H. tell like in pic 2. Then I cut the parts out and taped tham to the wood as in pac 3. Then I used Acetone to transfer the images of the part to the wood pac 4. The canape and wing ribs dent get done the canape well have to what. The ribs are made via the interpolation process. I haven't made ribs like this so this well be fun.

hallstro: The L-39 is on my to do list don't know if I whant to do asis or do it as a DF

eyeofra1678:

Can you elaborate on the acetone method? I don't think I have heard of this method. Do you then have to sand off the ink from some of the parts? This is very intriguing.

As for the L-39, you are very adventurous if want to convert it ducted fan.

Good work thus far!

Not alot dun to day. All plywood formers cut and sanded and got the ribs for the 1st wing set to form.

hallstro: all you have to do is get copy's of the parts you need to cut (The copy's must be don on a coyer NOT a printer the coppyer must use toner) tape the copy to the wood. get a rig and fold it to size and damp it whath the acetone then whap and it well tansfor. You don't need to sand the ink off jest put the inked side of the wood on the inside when you do the fuselage. The best thing of this is when I start work on the fuselage I don't need the plans You well see what I mene whan I get to that part.

OK the kit phase is done. Pic 1 are the wing spars cut and sanded. Pic 2 are the 22 wing ribs (there are no joining ribs so I think I well make some with 1/8th ply.) Pic 3 & 4 are the stb's. Pic 5 is the back end of the canape. Pic 6 fuselage this well be cut after 1/8 tar. or 1/8 sq. are add to the eges so that ca as more joining space. Pic 7 are the formers all cut and sanded phase 2 well be makeing an ARF

I know I haven't post in update in a week but I hade to fix my 4* and I tend to stop what Aim belding to make repairs on flying bards.

The Right wing panel is 85% done. 1st I put the wing ribs on the GP's wing jig I hade to get 1/8" rods as the 1/4" were to big for the ribs. I used some ca- on the inner spar. I then CA' ed the top & bottom spears in plase and clapped them down. I put 1/8" dowels in the holes form the jig rod holes (way not use them to give it more straight). I added some front spars up to the 4th rib to give it more straight. Then I put some webbing on the fort & mane spars up to rib 4. Then I added the sub LE and bottom 3/32" sheeting. These seems to be thek for sheeting but thats what it calls for. And last I cut 1 1/4" at wing root to 3/4" at wing tip for the ailerons.

Very nice work! good to see proper scratch building in this ARFy model world.

A note on the gear - make sure the metal parts cannot vibrate against each other as this may cause receiver interference.

I started to installing the mane gare I CDed 1/4x1/4 stick on to the fuselages. Fetted 3/16x1/2 spoce to the gare and used Gorilla Glue to glue theme to the sticks. And I used the Gorilla for the fire wall. I have added the 5/32 gare rods and 2" wheels. The 2" wheels were to big to fet in to the fuselage so I used some 1.75 wheels
