I have 20 kits and 1 arf. My wife does'nt ask me about my kits and i dont ask her about her shoes (shoes are more expensive)

<snip>

I have to remember that one. With that logic I'm good for at least 50 kits. [8D]

I am pretty low on flyable: a Kadet Senior w/fox 60, a Goldberg Tiger w/ST 75 and 3 Phencepost combat planes.

I just lost two planes so I had to dip into my kit inventory for a Lanier Shrike 40. With that withdrawal, I bought a Sig Wonder, A Sig Hog Bipe and a Great Planes Spirit Elite. So my total kit inventory is:

Sig Ryan STA
Sig Somethin' Extra
Sig Liberty Sport
Sig 1/4 scale Clipped Wing Cub
Sig Hog Bipe
Sig Wonder
Sig Kougar
Robbe Do-It
Goldberg Chipmunk
Goldberg Ultimate
Great Planes Spirit Elite
Great Planes Ultra Sport 60
Andrews Aeromaster II
Swany Mojo 40

Tax refund is coming so that growth is expected. I'm glad my wife is afraid of the attic, its my secret stash spot.

Some people collect stamps or coins. Others collect cars or antiques. I happen to collect model airplane kits.
I love to build and I try to have an airplane project going at all times. I like having an inventory of my favorite kits to choose from when its time to start a new project. I have more kits than my local hobby shop does! As for those who whine about people hoarding kits, I've always told all of my flying buddys that they can have any kit in my collection as long as they build it and not put it on ebay!

it ain't the kits that take up the room, it's the completed and 1/2 completed models that have over taken the place. Nadine complains that the guest room, isn't any more. my response is that the models are a lot cheaper and don't complain about poor service. now that Lone Star is back in business I can get decent balsa and know what to expect. have another Super day. dick

A note to all you hoarders (you know who you are.) Build those kits! Get out there and buy all the peripheral items you need to complete them! Jumpstart the modelling economy!

I propose the US House and Senate need to pass the Modelling Stimulas Bill of 2009. Tax breaks for those who purchase kits or materials to complete kits. Out of all the useless crap in congress will be doing, I'd at least get something out of that........

They should give each of us a $10,000 voucher for our modeling needs

and each model club $50000 for permanent field improvements

Lets get that pork barrel rolling

Well, I have 11 planes and 4 helis in flyable order. I have 8 commercial kits, 3 shortkits, and 1 ARF in the storeroom. I have 3 airplanes in the re-works catagory. 2 of those bought at auction. 3 being built from plans right now, and about 35 plans for things I have not built yet........................It is a disease..............My 1 car garage has never seen a car....only a bunch of planes and power tools.

I too have about 40 or so hangin'around. I've been building from plans and designing and building my own recently. But I have a pile of kits to back me up when I get tired of plans.

My wife must be a saint! Just finished up a BUSA Eindecker EIII to bring my 'hangar' up to 16 all ready to fly. She noticed I was down to 4 kits left and commented 'You should order more'!

I've got a Sig Spacewalker, Flair Fokker D VII, BUSA Fokker D VIII and an old Midwest AT-6 waiting to be built. But I really should make new floats for the 1/4 scale Cub first and I've got to contact a kit cutter for the Ziroli Stearman plans. It never ends!!!!!!!!

Love the suggestion on the stimulus plan. We could use about $83 K to redo the taxi and runways and re-gravel the parking lot. How do we apply?????????

Good flying to all!

My wife is the same way Augie. She has never really complained over the years about my hobby/kit spending and in fact often encourages me to pick up that 'extra" kit or whatever (I've learned to let her think it's her idea ) when I "find" that something special. I often hear of wives getting very upset at their husbands modeling hobby and find that very sad. I count myself lucky that my bride of nearly 40 years WANTS me to enjoy the hobby. YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAW!!!

700 kits and counting, latest additions 1/5 scale pica Bucker Jungmeister and Waco. Everything from micro size to giant scale to a turbine powered Mig-29 fulcrum 110" long from Fiberclassics. I'm 31 years old, fell in love with airplanes when I was toddler while watching crop dusters do passes behind my home. I plan to build a 100' x 100' foot hanger as part of my long life quest and build them all, then display them proudly. I'll pass them all down to my son. My goal is to have 1/3 scale warbirds form WWI, WWII, and Modern Fighters. I have several already. I also have a collection of 200+ rockets which were my first modeling endeavor.

Cheers,
Eric
