Mine has a servo back there. You can also use either a bell crank arragenment or a flexable pushrod like a nyrod and run it from the front, though I prefer thin carbon rods from CST Composites as they wont change length (and hence trim) in hot or cold weather.

I'm interested in pictures of how guys do this successfully. Especially for high speed planes and using pull for up. I've had a few ideas and even tried some that had less than perfect results when the planes get to the 40 size range. My 1/2a stuff has been fine.

all 4 of my gliders are T-tail, I use sullivans c/f pushrods on both elevator and live tail plane, I rarely have a problem with trim

Do you pull or push for up?

Most of the clean glider tails I've seen use a solid wire or CF as mentioned but push for up.

You can do it externally by making the outer tube the LE of the fin, or if the fin is built-up, you can put the pushrod internally.

In either case, you should use a flexible cable because they will move more easily in tight bends.
