Default Nose gear retract servo? PICA T-28 1/6 SCALE

I am building a 1/6 scale PICA T-28,i was wondering if i can i use a regular servo on the nose gear retrac instead of a retract servo? also this would be my first nose gear retract installation if i use a regular serve are there any special tips i need to follow,your help will be appreciated...

A standard servo is not advisable for retracts. A retract servo has more torque and it shuts off when it has completed the cycle where as a standard servo does not. A retract servo also has more throw than a standard servo, which you will need to get your retract work correctly. I know there are some that have used standard servo's, however I would not recomend it. Good Luck, Dave

While it's not recommended, it can be used.

My problem is not that it doesn't shut off (None of your other servos do either) but the fact that a standard servo is so much faster than a retract servo that the nose wheel will whip right up into the wheel well while the main gear go up normally.
