Default Solartex verses Econocote

Building a Byron Staggerwing ,and wonder if I can use Solartex in place of Econocote as the fabric would look more scale. Is it as low temp, and is the adhesive as good on the "Byrofoam " wings. Thanx.

I just cover a Decathlon with Worldtex and I am very happy with it. It went on well and shrank real well also. Good Luck, Dave

Sorry, I went right over the foam wing part. The tex coverings go down with low temp but I have never tried to go right over foam. If you want I could test it out on some shucks and see how well it works.

I missed the fact that you are wanting to put the covering right on the foam. I have not tryed that. You will want to get some scrqaps and give it a try. It does go on with lower temps, but get some test pieces first. Good Luck, Dave

Byron did a lot of the early kits with wings and tail feathers of "Byro foam" which is an injected mold process, its a lot different than ordinary white foam, and they recommended Econocote for ease of dent repair, just put the iron to it and it shrinks across the dent. I would just prefer to use a Tex if possible......thanx for all the input.
