Sig Kadet Lt 40 "Bolt on Wing"
Hi there,
I am building a Kadet lt 40 kit and I like to modify it so that I can use bolts for the wing. I have already flown the ARF version so I know how to get it done, the only issue is that I don't have the ARF building book as that has the specification for both the wing joiner and the size of the two middle rib made up of 1/8 ply. If anyone can share the dimension and the angle of the wing joiner along with plywood rib, i would really appreciate it.
Thank you
Syed

RE: Sig Kadet Lt 40 "Bolt on Wing"
I just built an LT40 and modified the wing and saddle for pegs and a bolt and converted it to a taildragger as well.
I don't understand why you want the root rib dimension and dihedral angle from the ARF. I just drilled holes for 1/4" dowel pegs in the leading edge. I beefed up the front of the saddle on the tank side with a former doubler. On the TE I cut out a 3" by 1.5" rectangle and epoxyed in a mating piece of hardwood drilled for a 1/4" nylon bolt. In the rear of the saddle area I put in a hardwood cross brace recessed and drilled with a T-nut underneath for the bolt. This piece was notched for the torque rods to have full range of motion. I can't post pics tonight but will be able to tomorrow if you want to see pictures.

Thank you for your reply, please go ahead and share the pictures. My reason to use ply rib is that I only know that way and it seems easier to me. If I can get some pictures where I can see how to it is done, I might try it.
Thank you

RE: Sig Kadet Lt 40 "Bolt on Wing"
I converted a 10 yr old ARF to bolt on wings.
All reinforcements are under the wing
Didn't do anything to F-2 except drill two 1/4" holes in it.
I used two 1/4" dowels on the front of the wing and two 1/4" nylon bolts at the rear of the wing. There are 1/8" plywood reinforcements glued underneath the wing
I doubled 1/4" plywood under the rear horizontal support on the fuselage for the wing and tapped threads directly into the wood.
