What Kind Of Plane? PICS!!
So here is the deal, I picked up this semi-built areobatic monster this weekend, however I have no idea what it is. I've done some research but I'm having trouble finding a match. Figured I'd show you guys cause I know someone will know what it is!
It has an 81" wing span and measures 64" from the firewall to the end of the rudder. I thru my 60 sized Big Stick in there for a comparison shot.
If I only had the plans for it [sm=72_72.gif]
Thanks guys!

No, the Dalotel had longer conopy. I believe it is a Sig Four Star. Compare at the Sig site:

i didn't see any canopy in the photos. also i built a few 4 stars back in the day and they weren't anything like that. 4 stars are flying boxes.

Four Stars don't have tapered wings. Other than that, I have no input.
Good luck

Post it in the Pattern section. It's definitely a pattern design. Tapered leading edge, large swept tail surfaces, long skinny body...
I think I just got excited...

ZLIN.....maybee
There are many different versions of tail feathers.
Here are a couple that are similar to what you have there.

I don't think that plane was taken from a full scale aircraft. Even on the Zlin, the counterbalance on the rudder is wrong.
This looks to be a pattern plane kitted or built in the 80's or 90's. The motor mount says that it wasn't built within the last 5 or 10 years. I would also bet that the wingtips are missing, and also that the tips extend down flush with the ailerons to reduce tip turbulance and flutter, similar to the rudder and fin design.

I still think it is a version of the ZLIN.
There are so many varients of it (it was a pattern type ship) that the counterbalance on the elevators are different on many of the photos.
I didn't check out the rudders.
Why not a pattern type kit that is based on a combination of Zlin characteristics?
Anyhow, that is my final 2 cents worth.

I will post it up in the Pattern section and see if anything comes up. As for the motor mounts, he may of just had those laying around at the time of the build, who knows. I'd definately like to finish this bird..
I have the Hobbico Spectrum, and it looks pretty similar, I know, its a Giant Spectrum! For now at least..
Thanks for the help guys.
