Default Nolsen Gere Sport

I have a chance to pick up one of these old kits
at a very reasonable cost.

My question is , is this plane really worth the effort
to build ?

I'd like to hear from some people who have either
seen these fly ,or better yet, previous or current
owners .

Regards,
Roby

Hi Roby: I think it is a nice looking Bi-Plane. I don't know why it would not be worth building. If you decide not to let me know. Dave.

Just for information purposes, the designer and kit manufacturer's name was Nosen, not Nolson. It appears that so many people are spelling poor old Bud's name "Nolson" that history is being re-written, as we speak! I take an interest in this because Nosen was from Norhern Minnesota and I'm from Northern Minnessota.

The Nosen stuff seems to be having a come back..even if only here on RCU. I am working on finishing a Nosen Giant Trainer on a thread in the kit buildingforums, the 310 guys are a good group, and the Gere Sport has been getting some mention as well. I am still kickin my butt for passing on two unfinished Gere Sports for 50 bucks a piece ! Of course I wasn't a gas engine guy then..but it still bugs me !

I hope it makes Ole Bud Nosen smile to see his stuff still out there, oh yeah I forgot the ever popular p51 and the Mr Mulligan..which is a sweet plane.

If you want something that will stop traffic because it looks real flying, this one will do it. Nice flyer, I need to get it out again.

Here's a few pics of my friend Kelly Fowler's full scale Gere Sport. Only two of these in existence, as far as we know.
