I have the same kit...and I haven't started it yet either. What engine, servos, mods have you chosen?
I'm using a new YS63FZ. and Hitec HS-945's for the rudder and elevator.. I'm going to stick to the single servo for the ailerons to keep the weight down, but I haven't chosen an aileron servo yet. Leaning to a strong/fast Futaba. Not going with pull-pull. I bought a gyro for the rudder...might not use it.

Thanks Gary.
Chuck I too will be using the YS 63 for power but I have not given any thought on the servos yet.
does anyone know how it might balance with the YS?

Thanks Gary...I'll use the 4-40 hardware.
WW...I don't know about CG, but...the kit is rated up to 70 4C. Since GP usually rates their kits with OS engines, I compared the OS FS70-II with the YS63FZ. The OS70 weighs 20.3 w/muffler. The YS63 weighs 17.9. It still might be a little nose heavy, but you should be able to deal with it by just moving battery and receiver.
Maybe there's someone out there who's built it and would comment.

Mine balanced perfect with OS .46.
Great flier. My favorite by far. I used Futaba 3004 servos all around and no problems. Roll rate is amazing.
ABS cowling is crap. I spent a lot of time hiding the seams only to have a new crack appear after every flight. Get a fibreglass one and save a lot of grief.
Re-inforce the wheel pants with a piece of plywood inside where they bolt on to the gear. Other than that. Enjoy.
If you want to see mine its in the photo library.

Thanks for the feedback Kirknik...nice plane! Do you think the FG cowl is lighter than your ABS. I'm definitely going fiberglass based on your input.
The YS63 weighs about 4oz more than the 46FX, which isn't a lot. I think I'll still be able to manage the CG by just moving the battery and receiver around.

I got mine from Great Hobbies on- line. Its made in Canada and I think its called Aeroglass. It was about $35 Canadian. I know Stan's Fibreglass also makes one.
